At 3:30pm, when I still hadn't heard from Chris, I finally sent a note. (Seriously? If he's not on the computer, a reminder "hey you haven't emailed" is not actually going to work!)
Here's what I sent:
Subject: Oh where, oh where
Oh where, oh where has my Chris-sy gone?
Oh where, oh where could he be? (sing along time)
With his hair cut short and his suit pants long
Oh where, oh where can he be?
At 410p, I received my first email of the day from Chris:
Subject: RE: Oh where, oh where
Oh I was at the dentist
Oh I was at the dentist
Oh I was at the dennnnnttttiiiisssstt!!!!
Oh that's where I would be.
Each week, I write two notes to Chris. The first has the subject "Chat" which included my questions for the week, and the things I want to know (or tell) right away. The other is simply the date and "print and reply later" in the subject line. He does print that letter and then comments or makes additional notes and mails it during the week.
Today he commented right away on the "Chat" note that he only had 10 minutes to write and he'd be handwriting more letters and info later in the week.
I asked Chris in the "Chat" email this week to tell me
1. about his investigators (those he is teaching about the LDS Church)
2. to list 3 fun things that happened this week
3. Are you allowed to look at the blog? It's been updated.
4. How was your zone conference and your interview with President Bonham?
Here is the reply:
1. We got 5 new investigators this week and one of them has been prepared. Her name is Marlene. She is widowed. Husband died a year ago. She had a 1981 copy of the Book of Mormon someone gave her like 30 yrs ago or something and also....she read 9 chapters before we got there on Fri. (which was almost a week later)
2. 3 fun things this week.....5 new investigators, basketball (getting closer with some of the non-members), and zone conf.
3. I can usually but I will have to look next week because of time today.
4. Zone Conf was great (got a few pics) ;) and I didnt have a meeting with Pres, I just saw him and talked to him. But he is inspired and receives revelation for each one of us. Love him.
Then I got an extra note that said to tell Dad and Katy that I'm not ignoring them, but I'm out of time. We played basketball this morning, and then the dentist took too long.
Not a long update this week...but take comfort in knowing that if you read this, you are as updated as our family! :-)
Thank you for being supportive either by writing, or by praying, or simply thinking of Chris. I know he appreciates it, and I know he loves being in WA and serving the people there.
